Fall 2018

A night to remember!

Patrick Lives On 3rd Annual Variety Show Fundraiser on September 8th was a HUGE success. Family, friends, and celebrities united to honor the life of Patrick Boswell, who lost his life to senseless gun violence. Thanks to ALL OF YOU, more students will have access to after-school programs!

SHOUT OUT

A sincere thank you to all our donors and event sponsors whose generosity made for a very special evening.

MEET MIKAYLA

In honor of her 21st Birthday, this inspirational young lady hosted a Fundraiser on Facebook and gathered her friends, family, and coworkers to raise $2,240.00 for Patrick Lives On.

Thank you Mikayla!

PAYING IT FORWARD

Patrick had many passions and loved tinkering on anything mechanical. He was really excited to get involved in Automotives and even took on a part-time job at a local automotive shop.

In honor of Patrick, other kids have the opportunity to learn about and succeed in the auto industry too.

Tim Heim, Maine West High School’s Automotive Teacher let us know that your generous donations funded the purchase of the first parts needed to build a high mileage vehicle for the Challenge USA Competition to be held April 28-29, 2019 at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet.  Way to go!

Summer 2018

Welcome to our Summer Newsletter.

We have had a name change!!  After two years, we have decided to drop the word “gun” from our name and logo. Our NFP began because of Patrick tragically losing his life to gun violence. But, since our inception, we have been assisting “at risk” students who have problems with many issues . . . not just gun violence. We want to help all children. We are simply called PATRICK LIVES ON……he lives on to assist people in all walks of life, striving for a better life.

INTRODUCING OUR BLOG

THE CHILD

by Patricia Frontain

Each week we receive applications for Organizational and Individual Scholarships. Last week I received an individual application that was different from the rest. It was written and mailed by a 13- year old applicant. Usually, they are filled out by a parent or coach or counselor.

This time, it was the child….he was seeing a possibility…seeing an opportunity….getting excited about it and going for it! I could tell by the handwriting that it was a young adult. Also, he did not complete the application thoroughly. He said he wanted to play soccer, but he did not state where or when or the cost.

MEDIA PRODUCTION

Our short film, entitled THE FOLLOWER, is in post-production. The composer is currently creating stunning music and the film will premiere in February 2019 at our Third Annual Film Festival. Immediately after the film will be distributed free of charge to schools and counseling centers and domestic violence safe houses. A big shout out to KESLOW CAMERA for their generous donation of camera equipment!
